This honor was announced at the 48th Annual Origin Awards, alongside this year’s award winners and GAMA Industry Award recipients.

Codenames earned this recognition thanks to its ability to appeal to a broad audience. With its clever wordplay and easy-to-learn rules, it successfully bridged the gap between casual players and strategy game enthusiasts. Since its release in 2015, over 16 million copies have been sold, and the game has been translated into more than 45 languages, earning its place among the most successful board games of all time.
