Annual Report of CGE Donations (2025)

CGE has always given back to our community wherever we can. As we grow as a business, we are able to make bigger contributions. Once a year, we would like to share these with you.

As this is our first report, we will start with a summary of our previous donations.

During the first year of COVID, we’ve donated all proceeds from our special digital app sale, which equaled over $100k, to the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. At the end of 2020, when the second wave of COVID began, we also gave 616k CZK to the University Hospital Brno (FN Brno), local to our digital HQ.

After the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, we pledged to donate the net profits of our Russian-language edition of Codenames. We can report a total donation amount of 10 mil CZK, half of which went to the Ukrainian embassy, and half to the Red Cross.

We also created a bilingual Ukrainian-Czech edition of Codenames to support war refugees and the people who help them. So far, we have been able to produce and distribute 15k pieces—and we’ve also produced 3k of the Ukrainian-Italian edition with our partner, Cranio.

We have also pledged a charitable donation of 100% of our net profits from our latest licensed Codenames title, an amount equal to or greater than the licensing fee. As the game has only just been released, there were no profits to report at our December review. Most new games can take a year or two before they begin to show a net profit. We will continue to report annually.

Donations of damaged, out-of-print, and remaindered games and components allow us to avoid waste and help schools and other small organisations to provide entertainment and educational resources to their own communities. We regularly donate games to fundraisers, too. In 2025, we’ve made game donations to more than 70 different organizations. Some of the most notable include the following:
